'12 Shops of Christmas' will feature downtown businesses
Taste Newberg, a nonprofit destination marketing organization chartered by the Newberg City Council in 2018 and formerly called Visit Newberg, will launch a Christmas-themed shopping campaign at month's end.
"12 Shops of Christmas" will feature a dozen businesses within a five-block stretch of First and College streets. An online guide has also been launched that highlights locally-made gifts and more in "inviting holiday shoppers to discover Newberg's festive, walkable downtown just 40 minutes from Portland," according to a press release.
The effort kicks off Nov. 28 on Small Business Saturday and will continue through Dec. 4 with the Newberg Festival of Trees, which consists of decorated trees adorning the downtown core.
Many of the 12 shops will also be offering discounts on their wares on Black Friday, immediately following Thanksgiving.
Three of the dozen shops have opened within the past six months, the release said, and all will be observing COVID-19 safety measures.
Participating in the event will be Abigail's Gifts, 111 N. Blaine St.; Art Elements, 604 E. First St.; Chapters Books and Coffee, 701 E. First St.; Good Company Cheese Bar & Bistro, 602 E. First St.; Ken & Daughters, 707 E. First St.; Lineage, 814 E. First St.; Little Bird Boutique, 606 E. First St.; Little Lavender Shop/Pollinate Flowers, 108 S. College St.; Nikki Jane's Boutique, 602 E. First St.; Pulp & Circumstance, 117 S. College St.; Uflora, 111 S. College St.; and Velour, 716 E. First St.
