Providence Festival of Trees goes virtual with 'Home for the Holidays!'
The Safeway Providence Festival of Trees is going virtual this year with a theme that's perfect for a safe celebration - Home for the Holidays!
For the festival's 38th year in Portland, dozens of volunteers and expert decorators will create awe inspiring Christmas trees available for viewing online.
On Thursday, Dec. 3 at 7 p.m., you can attend the festival's virtual gala. Get a first look at the over-the-top tree designs, while enjoying live performances from Amos Lee, Storm Large, and Aaron Meyer with The Brown Sisters. Raise your virtual paddle in an on-line auction, and enter to win exclusive raffle prizes.
It's free to register, and all are welcome. The auction and a raffles are live now - check it out at fot2020.ggo.bid/bidding/package-browse
On Saturday, Dec. 5, gather the family together and cozy up on the couch for a live television event - The Festival of Trees Christmas special on KATU at 8:30 pm. You'll get an up-close and personal tour of the festival trees, revealing what it takes to create the magical designs. Viewers will also enjoy performances from Amos Lee and other special musicians.
Proceeds from the Safeway Providence Festival of Trees benefit Providence Children's Health which cares for more than 112,000 babies, children and teens every year including thousands with special needs. For more information, visit www.ProvidenceFoundations.org/festival
