George Fox homecoming on tap Sept. 22-24

George Fox University is inviting alumni to return to campus for the school's annual Homecoming and Alumni Weekend event Sept. 22-24.

Homecoming will include reunions for the classes of 2007, 1997, 1992, 1987, 1977 and "Classic Bruins" (1967 and earlier); a Saturday tailgate party featuring the classic rock cover band Hit Machine; a tailgate beginning at 11:30 a.m. Sept. 23 in the Bauman Auditorium parking lot prior to the football game against Wisconsin Eau-Claire at 1:30 p.m.; an Alumni & Sports Hall of Fame Awards cermony on Sept. 23; a music concert at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 22 in Bauman Auditorium; a Classic Bruins Supper at 5 p.m. Sept. 22 in Canyon Commons; and a special Alumni of Color networking reception from noon to 2 p.m., also in Canyon Commons.

Class reunions for the 10- through 40-year groups take place Sept. 23 between 9 a.m. and noon and include a campus tour hosted by current students. Following the tour, all reunion classes will gather in the Stevens Center for a reception. Affinity reunions for accounting and pep band alumni will meet in the same location between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Pep band members will have the opportunity to join in a short rehearsal before performing at the football game.

Those alumni members who visit the alumni tent prior to kickoff will receive a complimentary T-shirt that gains them free admission to the football game. That evening, the Sports and Alumni Hall of Fame event begins with reception at 5:30 p.m., followed by a dinner and ceremony at 6 p.m. in Canyon Commons.

Other events include a volleyball match against the University of Puget Sound at 7 p.m. Sept. 22; a Pennington's Playhouse event for children from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sept. 22 on the campus quad; women's soccer games Sept. 22 and Sept. 23; and a men's soccer game against county rival Linfield Sept. 23 at 6 p.m.
