School district hosting informational meeting

Newberg School District will be distributing Chromebooks to all secondary students, to use both at school and at home, later this month. The district is hosting an information session for parents and families at 8 a.m. or 1 p.m. Thursday in the library at Newberg High School. There will be a question and answer session with administrators from all three buildings and a representative from the district technology department. The planned rollout date is Oct. 25 and the district wants to help families understand the process and what to expect, officials said.

Boy Scouts spaghetti feed Saturday

Boy Scout Troop 520will host a spaghetti feed and silent auction fundraiser from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Newberg Christian Church. The event will feature all-you-can eat food, games, live music and information on scouting and the regional volcano scouting group centered around Mount St. Helens. NHS holding FAFSA workshop Oct. 19

The Newberg High School College & Career Center will host a FAFSA (Free Application For Federal Student Aid) workshop from 3:30 to 7:00 p.m. Oct. 19 in the school's computer lab. Financial aid experts will be on hand to help families with the process and answer questions.
