University included in magazine's 2021 'Best Colleges'
George Fox University was recognized recently in U.S. News & World Report's 2021 "Best Colleges" issue.
George Fox ranked 227th overall in the 'Best National Universities' grouping, an improvement of 19 from the previous year. Colleges must provide a variety of undergraduate, masters and doctoral programs to be included in the rankings.
A 2020 survey of college presidents, provosts and admissions deans asked faculty to vote for schools with a strong commitment to undergraduate education. George Fox ranked 61st on the "Best Undergraduate Teaching" list, tying with notable institutions such as Cornell and Columbia. The university's engineering program was acknowledged in the "Best Undergraduate Engineering Program" rankings. The school improved 15 spots in a year, placing 60th out of 220. All programs on the list are accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology.
George Fox also appeared in the magazine's "Top Performers on Social Mobility" list — a catalog of institutions that enroll and graduate large proportions of disadvantaged students with Pell Grants.
This is the 33rd consecutive year that George Fox has been included in the report. Forbes magazine also has recognized the college as a top Christian university, according to a press release from GFU staff.
