There will be music this winter at the Butteville Store
The Historic Butteville Store, billed as the French Prairie's acoustic music venue, announced last week its winter schedule of musical groups slated to take the stage in the historic building.
The group that oversees the state-owned, but privately run, facility – the Friends of Historic Butteville – also revealed last week that the store will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday throughout the winter. That's in addition to its dinner and live music feature on the first and third Saturdays of each month, which will be "chef's choice" instead of ordering from a traditional menu.
The rundown of musical acts begins Saturday with Steve Blanchard, then Slipshod on Oct. 21, The Hillwilliams on Nov. 4 and Pipedance Nov. 18. The music continues Dec. 3 with Amanda Richards, a Corral Creek Bluegrass Christmas concert on Dec. 16, on Jan. 6 with The Jamblers and Jan. 20 with Hills and Hollows. Feb. 3 will feature the Castletown Band, while on Feb. 17 attendees can listen to Big Foot Mojo. The Horsenecks will play March 3, Ash Creek Bluegrass will play March 17 and the season wraps up with Melissa Ruth and Midnight Darlins April 7 and Outbound Travler on April 21.
