Ruby Josephine Ledbury Menser
Ruby was born in Boring, OR to Arthur and Elsie Ledbury. The family farmed in the Boring area. She attended Damascus Union Grade School, graduated from Gresham High School in 1939, and then attended two years of Business College in Portland. Ruby married Odis Menser on October 4, 1941. When Odis joined the Navy in 1945, Ruby began working for the Boring Post Office. After Odis returned home, they began farming their own farm. Their son, Paul was born on July 5, 1950. They were members of the Country Cut-Ups Square Dance Club in Boring and the Gateway Elks.
Ruby began working at Cascade Corporation in 1969, when Paul joined the Navy. She retired in 1982; Odis in 1983 and they began enjoying life. They traveled, tended a large garden, and planted Christmas trees. Unfortunately, they lost their beloved Paul to cancer in 2004.
Preceded in death by her husband, Odis; son, Paul; and her brother, Roy Ledbury; Ruby is survived by her daughter-in- law, Kathy Menser; sister-in-law, Barbara Ledbury; and several nieces and nephews whom she adored.
A reception and viewing will be held November 12, 2017, from 2PM - 5PM at Gresham Memorial Chapel, 257 SE Roberts, Gresham. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Damascus Pioneer Cemetery, PO Box 95, Boring, OR 97009.
