Dennis Neil Handy
Dennis Neil Handy passed away peacefully at home on November 6, 2017 on the birthday of his longtime companion Christy Rogers. He was born on February 27, 1947 in Portland, Ore., to Ivan Dale and Lenora Mae Handy.
Neil graduated from Reynolds High in 1965. His continuing education included a Bachelors degree in Science, Business Admin and Accounting from PSU in 1985, studies at OSU and in Real Estate.
He and his brother, Gene, were partners in business, including Handy Brothers Service, family owned Cherry Park Plaza and various other real estate properties, all in Troutdale. He was also very active in the community of Troutdale.
Among other hobbies, such as sailing, traveling, Nascar and sports, his love was his Greyhound dogs which he owned and raced throughout the country. He promoted the adoption program for retired dogs.
Neil was preceded in death by the love of his life, Christy Rogers; and his parents. He will be remembered always by those he loved and those that loved him.
As per his request, a gathering will be at Skyland Pub on December 2, 2017 from 12:30-2:30 p.m. Please bring a copy of a favorite photo for the photo board.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to Portland Adventist Hospice would be appreciated.
