James William White
Lifelong Gresham resident James William White, passed away at his home in his sleep, November 2, 2017.
He was born at Emanuel Hospital, Portland, Oregon on May 26, 1960.
James attended West Gresham Grade School for six years and one year at Dexter McCarty. The eighth grade he attended Brentwood College School in Mill Bay, British Columbia. While there he won awards in English and Writing. In the his senior year he was recognized for Creating Writing for writing, directing and producing an original play, and was elected President of the Student Activities Council in his senior year.
After graduation he returned to Gresham where he attended Mt. Hood Community College receiving an Associate's Degree in TV Production. He later attended Portland State University where he was on the Dean's List studying Creative Writing.
He worked various places in sound production as a sound engineer. James also was a store manager.
James had recently purchase a home in Gresham, 4 blocks from his childhood home to be closer to his mother.
He was very involved in fixing up and decorating his home when was was taken in his sleep on November 2, 2017.
He is survived by his mother, Betty White and cat "Pippa".
