July 8, 1955 - June 1, 2018 Jerry passed away on June 1st, 2018 from complications of Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS)

He was born July 8th, 1955 in Lake Charles, LA (Father in the Air Force). Jerry is the eldest child of Kenneth J and Wreatha M Sternes. Jerry lived most of his life in Tigard, OR. He graduated from Tigard High in 1973 and started his long career with Tektronix in 1974. He married Susan (Sue) Tycer on April 25, 1981.

Jerry had a passion for fast cars, he loved working on them too. In 1989, he became the body & paint man for Bruce Vollstedt's Nascar NW tour #17 car and loved it for 12 years.

Jerry was initiated into the Sherwood "Robinhood" Elks Lodge in 1983 and was sponsored by his grandfather Gilbert Sternes. He was an active Elk member for the entire 35 yrs. serving at the Lodge, State and Grand Lodge levels where he met so many friends, and he considered all of them family. He was also a member of the American Legion and the Eagles.

Jerry was also considered a "Social Butterfly" as he had so many friends and loved to keep in touch with every one of them. He had a love for Central Oregon as well as fishing. He also learned to be a stamp collector from his grandfather Gilbert.

Jerry is survived by his father Ken Sternes; wife Sue Sternes; brother Brian (LeeAnn) Sternes; nieces Kelly (Seth) Vessey, Brittany (Rob) Newberry; nephew Kevin (Kim) Sternes; 3 great nieces (Karlee, Kendall & Jenny); and 1 great nephew (Sam).

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 on June 23, 2018, at the Sherwood "Robinhood" Elks Lodge #2342 - 22770 SW Elwert Rd, Sherwood, OR 97140. Remembrances should be made to either the Elks Children's Eye Clinic, Elks Children's Eye Clinic Building Fund or the Leukemia Lymphoma Society.

Jerry will be truly missed by all.
