Neil Grant Hosea
A good and much-loved man, Neil Grant Hosea passed away on July 3, 2019, surrounded by family.
He was born on July 28,1942 in Seattle, WA to Richard and Doris Hosea.
They moved to the Portland area shortly thereafter. He attended local schools and secured 2 engineering degrees.
Neil's career spanned 35 years as an engineer for the Army Corp of Engineers, Portland Division. He also served 10 years as a reserve officer for Multnomah County. While working on a project for work in Southern Or.
Neil met Karen and they were married a short time later. They have been married for 47 years raising 4 children in Gresham Oregon. Relocating to Vancouver WA at retirement. Neil and Karen recently moved back to the Gresham area to be closer to family.
Neil was always a good provider and helper for his family, friends and those in need. He was a quiet man, but a man you wanted for a husband, dad, friend or neighbor. He is loved and missed greatly. Neil was active in the Gresham Masonic lodge, DeMolay and Jobs Daughters, where he served as an advisor for many young people. He was also an active member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and a life member of the Gresham Elks organization.
Neil loved to read and always had a book or two going. He was strong on research and getting the facts before moving forward on a project. He was a keen photographer with a talent for snapping the perfect photo. Neil loved camping and going to the beach house with his family. He also liked to hunt and was an enthusiastic Blazer fan.
Along with his wife, children, family and friends, Neil dearly loved his Shelties. His other love was his 58 Plymouth Belvedere which has been in the family from the time it was purchased off the showroom floor.
Neil is survived by his wife Karen; Children Sonja & Howard, Michael & Amy, Grant & Carolyn, and Rick; Grandchildren Mitchell, Matthew, Lexi and Eli; Sister Carol Mills; nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
