James W. Laramore
Jim Laramore died at PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center in Vancouver, Wash. of cardiac arrest on July 15, 2019.
Born in Jacksonville, Tenn. to James and Inez Laramore, he moved frequently due to Navy life until his family settled in Aurora, Ore. Jim was a graduate of North Marion High School after which he joined the Navy in 1969.
Jim served two tours of duty in Vietnam receiving many medals of honor. He was aboard one of the only ships to sink in Vietnam, the USS Regulus.
Jim started his own company, "Jim Laramore Construction" in 1991 and worked for so many locally until his retirement in January 2019.
Jim was an avid sports enthusiast who later in life enjoyed fishing, especially deep sea fishing and golf in which he engaged with high school friends in tournaments. He had a tremendous love of the outdoors and nature.
Jim proudly was a member of the VFW in Molalla, Ore.; The Paralyzed Veterans of America of Molalla; and Fraternal Order of Eagles, Woodburn, Ore.
Jim is survived by his daughter, Robin; grandson, Leland of Gresham, Ore.; brothers, Ed (Pam) of Woodburn, Ore.; and Bob (Donna) of Pelkie, Mich.; and sister, Patti Perkett of Aurora, Ore.
Private interment will be at Willamette National Cemetery.
