Dorothy Clark died in Elk Grove, Calif. on Saturday, July 13, 2019. She was born in Corbett, Ore. on November 21, 1925 to Blanch L. Calkins and Alfred H. Woodward. She graduated from Corvallis High School June 4, 1943 and received a diploma from the Western Union School in Los Angeles, Calif. in 1944 as an Automatic Teleprinter Operator. Dorothy later moved with her husband to Eugene, Ore. where they started a family. After her children were all in school, she went to work at the Diamond A Cannery as an inspector and was there for several seasons. She then went to work for the Willamette Valley Company where they made plywood patches and worked there for several years.
After living in Eugene Ore. for many for many years, Dorothy and her husband moved to Mulino, Ore. in the mid 70's. Sometime in the early 90's they moved to Molalla, Ore. where they built a new home on Fenton Street. They both became active members of the Molalla Adult Center. Dorothy was a frequent volunteer there and helped whenever needed. She also volunteered with the Lions Club. Dorothy enjoyed her community and the friends she gained there.
Dorothy is survived by her children; Bill Clark Jr., Fred Clark, and Marjorie Skelton; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, William E. Clark and will be placed next to him at the Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon. Dorothy's family will be having a celebration of her life at the Salem Masonic Temple, 1625 Brush College Rd NW, Salem, OR 97304 from 12:30 pm to 3:00 pm on Saturday, August 24, 2019.
