Ed joined the US Air Force when he turned 18 and served for 2 years as a radio operator. He met his best friend while in the Air Force, they shared a love of sports cars. Ed was a talented writer with some of his poetry being published.

Ed was married to Debi Nielsen on September 23, 1995, he would always say that these were the happiest years of his life.

Ed learned his love of baseball from his father and was a lifelong Braves fan. He formed and belonged to many Tender Loving Care groups in many homes forming lifelong friendships. He also taught many classes at New Hope Church. On Oct. 20, 2002 he became an ordained pastor and officiated over many weddings and funerals. In his working years he was an Engineer/Salesperson for various companies.

A Celebration of life will be held at New Hope Church 11731 SE Stevens Rd, Happy Valley, OR on Oct. 12th at 11:00 a.m. Private inurnment at Willamette National Cemetery.
