Larry was born April 1, 1941 in Alsea, OR to Eva and Ancel Seits, as the seventh of eight children. Larry attended Alsea High School where he excelled in sports. As a senior, he won the 440 state championship in track. His team went on to win the 1B State Football championship and he was selected to play the East/West Shriners All Star Football team as a fullback. After a small stint in college he joined the US Coast Guard where he met his future wife, Lucille Schleth.
He was blessed with two sons, Bryan and Trevor, and established a filbert farm and home in Newberg. He was a hardworking man who excelled at everything he did. His early experience as the owner and manager of a residential framing and carpentry business helped him move into a lifelong career where he was an award-winning salesman in the pneumatic fastening systems field. He worked for major manufacturers Senco and Duo-Fast, then eventually started his own company called Durafastening.
Over the years, Larry enjoyed collecting antiques and looking for a good deal. He had a passion for auto racing, bird watching and nature walks. Most of all he loved the Oregon State Beavers. He was able to retire and live in Arizona for a few years with his partner, Deidra Rey.
Larry was preceded in death by his sister Nova and brothers Manford, Ancel and George Seits. He is survived by sisters Frances Grotefend, Mary Coffee and Beverly Hendricks; his two sons Bryan Seits and Trevor Seits; his five grandchildren, Kayla, Madison, Hannah, Olivia and Abby; and his great grandson Alexander James.
