Mr. Lee died of lung failure on November 21, 2019 at Portland Adventist Medical Center at the age of 86.
He was born on March 16, 1933 to King Chang Lee and Yu Hsuan Lee in Canton, China. After earning a Bachelor of Laws from Soochow University in Taiwan in 1958, he immigrated to the United States in 1960. In 1962, he married Kit Ha Lee in San Francisco.
Mr. Lee attended the University of Idaho where he earned a Master's Degree and a Doctor of Philosophy Degree, both in Political Science.
Mr. Lee moved to Portland in 1973, where he worked in the title insurance field and the import/export business, with a focus on the Pacific Rim. After the passing of his wife in 1990, he became a Political Science instructor at Portland Community College until his retirement in 2008.
He is survived by three sons, Alexander of Portland, Cyrus of Lake Oswego, and Felix of Camas, Washington; six grandchildren; and four sisters, Rebecca Ho of Houston, Frances Lee of Ottawa, Man Ken Lee of Vancouver, Canada, and Wendy Chung of Toronto.
The family suggests that remembrances be contributions to the Chinese Presbyterian Church in Portland.
