Elenore Jean 'Sue' Keller
Elenore Jean "Sue" Keller, 89, previously of Gresham, went to be with Jesus October 31, 2019 in Spokane, Wash.
Our Mom was born September 17, 1930 to Rev. Martin and Elenore Zagel in Twin Falls, Idaho where she enjoyed her childhood adventures with older brothers, Pete, Bob and Richard. In 1944 the family moved to Portland where she was active in Calvary Lutheran church and graduated from Franklin high school. She married Norman Keller Sept. 24, 1948. Daughter, Nancy and son, David were born in Portland before moving to Great Falls, Mont., where daughter Joyce was born. In 1958 the family relocated to Spokane, Wash. She was an active member of Holy Cross and Pilgrim Lutheran churches and worked at Sears in the cashier department until moving to Gresham, Ore., in 1974. She worked summers at Townsend Farms with son-in-law, Jeff and enjoyed meeting new people there. She was an active member at St. Timothy Lutheran church and chapter BA of P.E.O.
She moved back to Spokane in 2014 and lived with her daughter, Nancy and son-in-law, Dale and was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran church. Our mom adored being mother, grandmother and great-grandma She cared for all with unconditional love and kindness. She loved her family and her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Her unwavering faith exuded in everything she thought, said and acted on. She loved reading her Bible, worshiping God and sharing her faith.
She is survived by her beloved dog, Max; daughters, Nancy (Dale), Joyce (Jeff); son, David; grandchildren, John, Paul, Wendy, Holly and Ryan; great-grandchildren, Reagan, Jenny, Jayden, Josh, Isaiah, Bethany and Rexson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman; brothers, Pete and Richard; daughter-in-law, Paulette Keller; grandson, Robbie Townsend.
A celebration of life will be held at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, December 7, 2019, at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home, 520 W. Powell Blvd., in Gresham. Charitable donations may be made to Spokane Hospice House, 367 E. 7th Ave., Spokane, WA 99202. Reception to follow at the Townsend residence.
