It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Linda, age 75. She died peacefully in a Portland care facility and was escorted into heaven by her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, where she was reunited with her parents, Don and Elizabeth Coates.

Linda lived most of her adult life in east Multnomah County in Gresham, Oregon. She grew up in Wood Village and attended Reynolds High School. She attended Marylhurst College, University of Hawaii and Portland State University graduating with a degree in Liberal Arts (Secondary Education). She taught English and Creative Writing classes at several high schools and finished her teaching career at Sam Barlow High School where she taught for over 20 years and retired in 1999. Teaching was her vocation and avocation and was devoted to her students during her entire career.

She is survived by her sister, Margaret (Morgan) Grant, of Honolulu, Hawaii and her niece, Sarah Grant, of Eureka, California.

A private family burial will take place at Lincoln Memorial Cemetery on January 31, 2020 and a public memorial will be held in the spring.
