Carla Jean Brummell
Carla Jean Brummell passed away on September 22, 2020 in Canby, OR with her family by her side. She had battled MS for almost 30 years, although cancer was the eventual cause of death.
Carla was born in Baker, MT and the daughter of Thomas
and Edna Atkinson. She grew up in Eastern Montana mainly in the town of Circle. Her and her husband along with their three children moved to Sandy in 1972 where she resided until her children were grown. In 1976 after her divorce she began an 18+ year career working at St. Jude's Nursing Home and Bishops Health Care Center. October 1982, she met her love Ronnie Brummell and they were
married less than a year later. For over 10 years
Carla and Ronnie continued to care for others by
working at and owning their own adult foster care
homes until she retired in 2006.
She was a strong woman whose goals were to be a
good Christian, love others, and raise her children;
to be the best Mom, which she excelled at. She
enjoyed gospel music, the Bible, and visiting with
everybody she ever met. The best thing about Carla
was her love. If you knew her, you not only knew the
depths of it, but you genuinely felt it. Her children,
husband, and grandchildren were her true loves, but
her greatest love was for God.
She is survived by her loving husband Ronnie
Brummell; her son Troy Hilstad; daughter Teresa
(Lance) Conger; son Travis (Jennifer) Hilstad and
eight grandchildren, Alex, Austin, Hannah, Ryan,
Cameron, Lane, Kyle, and Kayla.
She was deeply loved and will be truly missed. A
Celebration of Life to reminisce, grieve, and visit
(Carla's favorite thing) is pending.
