Patricia L. Gibney
Patricia Louella Elizabeth Hoemberg Gibney entered into the arms of Our Heavenly Father, October 28, 2020, surrounded by her adoring family. She was 96 years old.
The youngest of five girls, Pat was born to Juia and Fred Hoemberg on May 13, 1924 in Staples, Minnesota. Raised in a faithfilled family, Pat attended Sacred Heart Catholic School. It was in the 7th grade, she met the "love of her life", Joseph Gibney. They were married in Atlantic City, New Jersey, in 1945, just before Joe was shipped to Hawaii, during WWll. Together, they raised 5 children, which Pat always said was her "greatest accomplishment".
Pat was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, in Lake Oswego. She joined the Altar Society and the Christ Child Society, sewing gowns for infants born to teenage mothers. Pat was a talented seamstress, creating wedding gowns and bridesmaids' dresses' for her four daughters, and even Halloween costumes for her grandchildren. Her creativity set high standards for the entire family.
Pat loved to dance to the oldies with her "greatest blessing", husband Joe. Together they were able to celebrate 75 years of marriage. She was a proud grandmother of 20 grandchildren and 30 reatgrandchildren. Pat loved welcoming them into her home. They all agreed, "Grandma always had time to talk and she always made us feel special".
Pat is deeply loved, and she will be dearly missed by her husband, Joe Gibney and her children, Suzanne Ochs, Maribeth Surber (Ron), Colleen Doell, Tom Gibney (Rose), Rob Gibney (Debi), Therese Delaney (Dan), plus all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Pat has been reunited with her parents, her sisters, her granddaughter
Lisa and great-grandson Andrew, in Heaven.
"I've had a wonderful life!"
