John Bonnell Bonsey Sr.
John Bonell Bonsey, Sr. recently died peacefully at age 93 in Newberg, Oregon. John was born to loving parents in Hawaii, where he grew up on Maui with his younger brother Ed and their little sister Hannah Louise. John and his first wife Jean lived on Oahu, where they reared their four children: John Jr, Jean, James and Jeffrey. Even though he was working two jobs, John always made time for his children, often taking them hiking, camping and sailing, but more importantly, showing them unconditional love and a love for their world and the people in it. John was a photographer by trade, with an uncanny eye for capturing the beauty in this world. John was very generous with his time and talents, and he always looked at the world with a certain childlike innocence.
Following his divorce from Jean, John married Pat Skinner, and in the process gained three additional children: Jim, Caroline and Kathryn. John and Pat eventually moved to Washington State to be closer to their grown children and young grandchildren. Following Pat's death, John moved to Oregon to be near his son Jim and his family, including his two great-grandsons. John was loved dearly and will be greatly missed
