Donna J. Hawkins
Donna J. Hawkins died on January 11th at her home in Gresham due to natural causes. She was born in Sunny Nook, Alberta, Canada to Athol and LaRue Robertson. They moved to Portland in 1927. Donna attended Franklin High School where she met Bob, her husband, and ifelong friends. She attended OSU. She married Robert Hawkins on D Day, June 6th, 1944. Together they had 5 children. Sureen (Roger) Speece, Tigard, Jill (Stephen) Deese, Damascus, Scott (Molly) Hawkins, Seaside, Casey, New York, NY, Phyllis (Wayne) Nakasone, Mililani, Hawaii. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by Bob in 1991 and granddaughter, Leslie Brown. She and Bob were residents of Gresham since 1974 when they bought a 20-acre farm on Victory Heights. Bob practiced law in Gresham for many years and Donna dabbled in real estate in the late 70's and early 80's for Mayfair and Oregon Realty. She was a member of the Troutdale Historical Society, volunteered as a reader for the SMART program at a local Gresham grade school. Donna bowled on a team for more than 40 years at Hollywood Bowl. She had been a member at both Smith Memorial and Cherry Park Presbyterian churches. There will be no formal service due to COVID-19. Donations in her memory to Hospice.
