Janene Hager Pipher
Janene (Jan) Hager Pipher passed away March 6th in the comfort of her home after a long battle with esophageal cancer. She was 69 years old. Jan was born in Portland, OR to June and Ernie Hager on May 19, 1951. When Jan was 6 years old, her family moved to Corbett, Oregon and built their home which is now known as Brickhaven Bed and Breakfast. Jan grew up in Corbett and was a proud Alumni of Corbett High School, class of 1969. She then married and had three children. Jan is survived by her daughters: Tessa Paul and Holly Stamper and joins her son, Jack Godat, who passed in 1989. She was sister to three brothers: Michael, Robin and Timothy and cared for her developmentally disabled step sister, Iva Jo. Jan was also a loving grandmother to 5 grandchildren: Alex, Travis, Ashley, Mitch and Nikki.
She was a fierce protector of all things furry, and was an avid bird watcher, gardener and owner of Columbia View Lavender Farm, located on The Historic Columbia River Highway.
Jan wished to be cremated and for an outside service to be held on her lavender farm in July, during the glory of the lavender bloom.
