Doris Anne Bruce Henson
Doris B. Henson, of Lake Oswego since 1963, passed away of natural causes at the age of 98 on February 28, 2021.
Doris is survived by son Jim; and grandchildren Brian and Claire. Doris and her husband Keith touched many lives in retirement as avid hikers with the Lake Oswego Day Trippers and volunteers at the Tryon Creek State Park. Doris's parents emigrated from England in 1902 and 1907, and she and her 4 older siblings were born and was raised in Portland, Oregon. Doris attended University of Oregon and Columbia University in New York and earned a Masters of Social Work degree before working as a social worker in Oregon and settling into a long career at the Boys and Girls Aid Society in Portland. Doris and Keith are also remembered for their "Mystery Trip" Eagle bus motorhome, which carried them, relatives, and hikers across the USA from the Pacific to the Atlantic and from Mexico to Alaska on many memorable adventures.
