April 8, 1940 - January 11, 2021 - Shirley Ann Cereghino, age 80, passed away on Monday, January 11, 2021 due to complications from COVID.

Shirley was born in Kensal, North Dakota, to Adolph and Evelyn (Bower) Spitzer. She attended Concordia Teachers College in Chicago, IL, graduating with a degree in Elementary Education. Shirley spent nearly 30 years teaching in the Tigard-Tualatin School District.

On January 26, 1968, Shirley married Kenneth James Cereghino, and they raised one daughter, Sandi.

Shirley had a passion for gardening and tending to her flowers, of which she had many varieties. She was an avid and talented cook, and prepared many delicious homemade meals for her family. Shirley was also a woman of great faith, who treasured time spent with others in serving the Lord. She will be remembered for her loving, kind-hearted, and generous nature, and for the many, many lives she touched over the years.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Duane, Lawrence "Bud," and Clarence; and sister Lorraine.

She is survived by her husband Ken; daughter Sandi (Joe) Saylor; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A family graveside service was held on January 23, 2021 at Mountainside Cemetery in Scholls, Oregon. A private Celebration of Life is planned for this spring, Shirley's favorite season.
