He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and three siblings: Kathy (Bob) Johnson of WA, Nancy (Steve) Lamperti of MT, and Gary (Susan) Dysart of WA. He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Byron Dysart, his mother, Alice Dorothea Keen Dysart, and a daughter, Rachel Elisabeth Dysart. Douglas was born on March 6, 1945, in Walla Walla, WA. He graduated from Walla Walla High School in 1964 and attended the University of Washington. He graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Fish Biology. He enjoyed a long career working for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, something he often said was no work at all because he enjoyed it so much. Douglas first married Anna Marie Slane in 1970; they had three daughters (Candace, Lynda, and Rebecca) and one son (Neil). He later married Sherril Ann Salts in 1982; they welcomed a daughter (Karen) and a son (Joseph) and lost another daughter (Rachel) at birth. Sherril also brought a son (James) and daughter (Lily) to the marriage, whom Doug cared for as his own. Douglas had a passion for the outdoors, especially fishing, hunting, and boating. His favorite free hours were spent in his boat on the water—he didn't care if it was on the river or ocean because he loved and enjoyed both. He consistently looked for opportunities to help and serve those in his community, which he did frequently and always with an infectious smile and compassionate spirit. On February 20, 2021, a funeral service was held in his honor at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Estacada.
