Christopher Joseph Krenk
Christopher Joseph Krenk, age 72, died peacefully at his home in Lake Oswego, Oregon on April 17, 2021. He was a 1971 graduate of the University of Oregon and went on to complete a Master's in Social Work (MSW) from the University of Washington.
In 1977, Chris married Chris' career began at the Christie School where he served as the Director of Program Services. He went on to spend 7 years as an administrator at the Cedar Hills Hospital. He later served as the chief executive officer (CEO) of Albertina Kerr Center in Portland, Oregon for 26 years before retiring in 2016.
Much of his life was spent in service of others. He served on the board of directors for many organizations over the years, including Nursingale, the Non-Profit Association of Oregon, and CareOregon, as well as being an active member of the Portland Pearl Rotary Club.
Chris enjoyed cheering on his Oregon Ducks, traveling the world, and tending to his chickens and garden full of flowers and vegetables.
Chris was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Marvin Krenk of Eugene. He is survived by his wife Nell; their daughter Hanna Babcock-Krenk; son Elliot Babcock-Krenk (Jillian Fagan); and daughter Miranda Haw (Elliot Haw). He also is survived by his brother Michael Krenk (Laura Krenk); several cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends, including Bene the dog and Cally the cat.
At Chris' request, there will be no funeral or memorial service. Instead, he asked that friends and loved ones consider a donation to Albertina Kerr Center or the Oregon Food Bank.
The family would like to thank friends, family, and acquaintances who have shown tremendous love, support, and encouragement to Chris and all of us through this difficult time.
