Joyce was born in Kalispell to Fred and Hilda (Yurman) Broeder, Jr. on Feb. 23, 1943. Though her mother died when Joyce was just 8, she was blessed enough to be raised by her second Mother, Ruth (Crail) Broeder.

Joyce was raised and attended school in Creston, Montana where her father owned a lumber mill company. After graduating from Flathead County High School in 1961, Joyce went on to receive a B.S. of Elementary Education from Montana State University in 1965. Shortly after, she moved to Lake Oswego and taught school until the birth of her children. She remained at home with her children until they were school age. She then returned to substitute teaching for several years with various other jobs. After retiring from Multnomah County Elections, she moved to West Linn to be close to her church and family.

Joyce had a very active and happy childhood with a love of outdoors, gardening and swimming which continued her entire life. Joyce was a special Grandma who loved her granddaughters and all of her "grand-dogs". She was a devoted Christian and attend Willamette Christian Church with a very loving church family.

Every summer, Joyce would pack up the car with her children to return to Montana to spend time with her family at the family cabin on Echo Lake.

She was preceded in death by her parents and exhusband Marvin W. Admire of Bozeman, MT. Joyce is survived by her children, Sean (Jennifer) Admire, Melanie (Kent) Nelson and Josh Admire; three granddaughters, Isabelle, August and Genevieve. She is also survived by siblings Judy Allen, Linda Paulson, Debi Holguin and Fred Broeder, all of Kalispell, Montana.

A celebration of life will be held at Willamette Christian Church on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. with a reception to follow at Joyce's home in West Linn. A family memorial service will be held in Kalispell, Montana this summer and her final resting place with her Grandparents, Father Fred and Mothers Ruth and Hilda.

The family would like to express our enormous gratitude to four very special women Kate Edal, J.K. Soderquist, Maria Steele-Osuna and Haley Gibson that not only watched over Mom during her final journey, but loved her like a Mother and friend the last year and a half. We love you.
