June Satchfield died January 7th, following a short illness, surrounded by her family. She was 99.June was born on the family farm in Grantsburg, WI to Christian Johnson and Lucy Orr Johnson. She was raised in Grantsburg, attending a one room schoolhouse until 8th grade and graduating from Grantsburg High School in 1941. In 1943, June married Bud Satchfield. They eventually moved to Portland, Oregon where June completed her undergraduate degree in nursing at University of Oregon (U of O). After Bud's unexpected death in 1961, June earned a Master's in Nursing from U of O.June resided for many years in Portland then Gresham, Oregon where she worked first at the Multnomah Hospital and eventually at OHSU as an Associate Director of Nursing, a total of 37 years. She retired in 1985. June loved living in the Northwest. She was a lifelong learner, a lover of history and a woman of faith. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Rockwood. She also loved to read, knit and tend her roses. She was especially devoted to her family. June was forever a student, owning her first iphone at 95, texting her greatgrandchildren on a regular basis.June is predeceased by her parents, her beloved husband Bud, her children Beth Lewis and Paul Satchfield and sister Becky Toevs-Wait. She is survived by her daughter Mary Lehl, of Sandy, sister Maxine Johnson of Gresham; five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.A memorial is planned for a later date.
