SUBMITTED PHOTO - Steve PeakeSteve Peake always made the most of every opportunity in life by the sheer force of his energy, intelligence, passion, and his love for his family and friends. The local father, grandfather and businessman died December 27, 2021 in Portland Oregon from complications due to his battle with ALS.

Steve was born in Portland to Nina and Lewis Peake in 1947. He and his younger brother George grew up in a typical mid-century family. The boys had paper routes, the family was involved in Indian Guides, and they went on driving vacations in the summer. Steve studied printing at Benson High School. He began working as a night printer after school, and eventually became sales manager at Glass Dahlsstrom printers.

He met and married Fran and they had two children, Chris and Tony. To support his growing family, he began working at Code-A-Phone, rising to National Sales Manager. In 1983, he started his own company, Peake Marketing, helping consumer manufacturing companies to sell to retail outlets. Steve loved the retail business. He always knew the hottest product trends and the best places to buy things. He also loved to shop.

Though Steve endured extensive business travel, he enjoyed travel for fun. He vacationed to many locations in the US and abroad with his family and friends. He accumulated stories about his experiences in the places he visited, and he made so many friends along the way. Steve appreciated the flavors of many destinations, especially food and wine.

Steve is survived by his children Chris Brien (John) and Tony Peake (Kelley); his brother George Peake (Jody); and his grandchildren Kennedy, Ella and Brooklyn Peake. He is also survived by his partner and companion Charmaine Peck. His wife Fran died in 2014.

As Steve wished, there will be a celebration of his life at Oswego Winery on May 1, 2022 at 1:30. Donations in Steve's honor may be made to the ALS Oregon and SW Washington Foundation.
