October 2, 1949 - January 1, 2019 Coquille Indian Tribal Member Gregory Mark Mecum (Red), passed away peacefully at home with his wife by his side.

He was a loved husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. He attended St. John the Baptist Catholic School for eight years, graduated from Clackamas High School in 1967, and he served as a Staff Sergeant in the US Army for nine years, then obtained his Bachelor Degree from Portland State University.

He married his high school sweetheart Joanne Young. For 48 years they enjoyed a wonderful life that included family, friends, travel and lots of fun filled times. Gregory worked for the USPS for 35 years retiring as a Letter Carrier from University Station.

He is survived by his wife Joanne; three sons, Eric, Philip and Jason Mecum; grandson, Zachary Mecum; his brothers, Christopher, Dennis and Shadowhawk; and sister, Kathy Mecum.

On Friday, January 25 the following services will be held: Mass at St. John Catholic Church in Milwaukie at 10:30 am; Military Honors and Committal at Willamette National Cemetery at 12:30 pm; Memorial Reception at The Monarch Hotel, Clackamas, at 2:30 pm.
