Cheryl Lee (Dominiak) Rahn, 72, of Canby, Oregon, passed away Sunday, March 17, 2019. She was from the Canby area all of her life, with a long line of ancestors who settled in the Canby/New Era area in the mid-1800's. She was currently residing in the family home built by her great-grandfather in 1870.
Cheryl was very involved in her community. She served as an officer of the Canby Historical Society for many years. Cheryl was also an officer of the Oregon City Elks #1189, serving as secretary for 3 years, and also received the distinguished honors of Oregon City Elks Citizen of the Year, Oregon City Elks Officer of the Year, and Metro District B.P.O.E. Officer of the Year.
Cheryl had a never-tiring love of her garden, from which she canned a winter supply of vegetables all summer long. Growing and sharing her flowers was another passion of hers. She was passing along to her grandchildren her love of gardening. Carrying on family traditions, and passing them onto the next generation, was important to her.
Cheryl is survived by her husband of 50 years, Tom Rahn; daughter, Holly Rahn of Salem, Oregon; son, Bill Rahn of Oregon City; daughters-in-law, Marci Rahn and Shannon Stoutenburg; grandsons, Peyton Stoutenburg-Rahn and Parker Rahn; granddaughter, Ashlyn Rahn; sister, Pamela (Dan) Brown of Canby; brothers, Charles (Sue) Dominiak of Las Vegas, Nevada and Joe Dominiak of Arizona, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents, William and Delores (Bradtl) Dominiak; and brother, Edward Dominiak.
Cheryl will always be remembered for her love and devotion to her family, friends, and community. A Celebration of Life was held on Saturday, March 23rd at the Oregon City Elks.
