Karen Sue Dilg (the fourth child of Hushul and Verna Metcalf Moyer, born on February 7, 1944 in Portland, Ore.) passed away with family around her on July 19, 2020, at the age of 76 in Colton, Ore., while kids rode cardboard boxes down the stairs nearby. She was preceded in death by her parents, older brother Terry, and older sister Janine. She leaves behind her older brother Linn, her younger brother Dennis, her husband Joe, their two sons, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Karen loved the outdoors and the beauty of nature. Flowers, plants, and animals- especially sheep. She showed that love through pieces of artwork, which she had a great talent for creating. She had a great sense of humor.
Karen was raised with her four siblings in Oregon City, where she graduated from Oregon City High School. She went on to schools of higher learning like Brigham Young University and Clackamas Community College to earn her degrees in teaching and nursing. It was in Utah that she met Joe Dilg, who she sealed and married for time and all eternityon August 10, 1965 in the Idaho Falls Temple.
Karen and Joe had two sons, Huck Dilg and Eric (Shirley) Dilg, and later seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Karen loved her family very much and was surrounded by loved ones in a family home at her request before she was called home by her Heavenly Father and King.
Karen was a steadfast member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints all her life and had a great love and great faith in Jesus Christ. She served in many callings in the church, showing her love to the Lord and others. Karen is a greatly loved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She is greatly missed.
