Roger was born on October 1, 1950 in Enid, Oklahoma, the son of Charles Clark and Irene Trusty Woods. In 1960, Roger's family moved to Oregon. At Estacada High, he was active in band and choir where he met his lifetime love and partner, Jane "Janie" Bachmann. Roger and Janie would have celebrated 52 years of marriage on February 14, 2021. Roger enlisted in the United States Air Force shortly after he and Janie married. Their two sons, Christopher and Mathew were born, and as they grew, both Roger and Janie were active with Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. As a career non-commissioned officer, Roger served in many roles and on bases throughout the United States and Southeast Asia. In 1990, Roger retired from the military and moved back to the Northwest, first in Roy, Washington, then in 1993, returning to live permanently in Estacada. They were able to be close to family especially Roger's parents and Janie's father, Chet Bachmann with whom they shared a home. Also joining their household

were Janie's great niece and nephews. In Estacada,

they reestablished friendships with high school classmates and Roger became active in the American

Legion, Estacada Madrigal Singers, Douglas Ridge

Rifle Club with the youth small bore program and

Scouting. Roger enrolled and graduated from Clackamas

Community College and then accepted a position in

IT at the Oregon City campus. After over a decade at

CCC, Roger retired again. Roger will be remembered for his joy for singing and his brotherhood of U.S. Veterans. Most of all, he will be remembered for his love of family and traveling.
