SUBMITTED PHOTO - Dorothy Lucille (Dingledine) SahrDorothy Lucille (Dingledine) Sahr, 86, passed away on Tuesday, June 29th. Dorothy had suffered from dementia and a weak heart. She was born January 15, 1935 in Cambridge, Wisconsin to Gordon Thomas and Kathreen (Scudder) Dingledine. Sixty-five years ago, she married her high school sweetheart Carl Sahr. Carl and Dorothy's first year of marriage was spent in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, their hometown where they went to high school. Shortly thereafter, the young couple decided it was time to set their own course and moved to Tempe, Arizona. Tempe was a familiar part of the country as Dorothy received her Bachelor degree in Home Economics while attending college at Arizona State University. After spending about a decade in Tempe, Carl and Dorothy journeyed to Oregon ultimately settling in Estacada. Dorothy worked as a Home Economics teacher at Estacada High School for 20 years. After retiring, Dorothy ran her own floral business creating arrangements from her own home grown flowers along with making beautiful Christmas wreaths. Dorothy loved to be outdoors enjoying her garden, skiing and daily walking, becoming an active Volkswalking participant. She also volunteered at Leach Botanical Garden in Portland and was active in the Estacada Garden Club. Dorothy attended the Springwater Presbyterian church. Dorothy loved raising her two sons and supporting their many activities.

Dorothy is survived by sons Jeff and wife Rebecca of Columbine Valley, Colorado and Terry and wife Kelly of Phoenix, Arizona. Dorothy has one granddaughter, Kathryn Sahr, daughter of Jeff and Rebecca who resides in New York City. She is also survived by her nephew Donald Dingledine and wife Jeannie. In a reflection of Dorothy's life and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association at alz.org/co or the Springwater Presbyterian Church at springwaterpres.org.
