Kenneth Melville Duff, 71, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 1, 2019. He was born on May 29, 1947 in Silverton, Oregon. Ken attended Boring Grade School and graduated from Sandy High School. He climbed Mount Hood twice, was an Army paratrooper and radio operator who proudly served in the Vietnam War. He worked for Chambers Motor Company and Gene Howell Logging. After the birth of their daughter Roberta, the family moved to their current Damascus home where Ken started a successful family business called Rainbow Welding and Fabrication retiring in 2017.
He loved his family, telling jokes, hunting, fishing, traveling, camping, and getting firewood. Ken had many talents including car repair, diesel truck repair, welding, wood bowl turning and even cooking.
He was a fun, happy man who believed in Jesus as his Savior. He taught Sunday School, lead Bible studies and was a charter member of Abundant Life Christian Church. When the family later joined Good Shepherd Community Church, he helped with their car clinics, sportsman banquets and for 12 years he was a children's leader in a program called Breakout.
Many children will remember his Christmas gingerbread houses constructed from graham crackers or the Thanksgiving turkeys made from apples with lots of candy. He was also an active member of the Molalla River Rangers where he was known as "Jack A. Lope." He competed in the club's shooting matches and was always ready to help set up before and take down after the matches. He lived his life to its fullest as every day was a new adventure.
He thanked The Lord daily for the family and friends God had given him. Ken was a faithful servant and a kind, considerate man who was dearly loved by many and will be missed by us all.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Melville and Marybelle Duff; sister, Susan Duff Secrest and his
grandson, Elliott Kenneth Staigle. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Wilma Duff; daughter, Roberta Staigle (Adam); grandchildren, Samuel, Liberty- Grace, Liliana and Noah Staigle (all of Parma, Idaho); his twin sister, Katherine Duff of Gresham; and many precious nieces, nephews and extended family.
