Dean G. Falkenstein
Dean Falkenstein died Thursday, April 25, 2019 after a long illness, surrounded by his wife, Jan and family.
Dean was born in North Dakota to Orville and Esther (Tolliver) Falkenstein. He moved to Oregon as a teen and attended Gresham High School and lived there until his death.
He worked for U-Haul Co. from the time he was 14 years, starting out sweeping floors and ending his career as a managershop president with the Company. After retiring in 1988, from U-Haul Dean was a bus driver, driving school bus for the Gresham-Barlow School District for 5 years. Dean enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and spending time with family especially his grands and great grands, all of who he adored.
Dean leaves behind his wife of almost 42 years, Jan; daughters, Deena Pollard, Tracie Thomas; sons, David Falkenstein, Tom and Todd Kerr; brother; Darrel, sister; Joy Scarborough, six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Gene, Dennis, Don and Marvin; and
beloved son-in-law, Dean Pollard. Services were held on Tuesday, April 30, 2019, at Gresham Memorial Chapel.
