Maureen McKeel Swaney died this past winter on November 13, 2018. She was

born to Lynn and Mary McKeel on December 16, 1940 in Gresham and graduated

from Gresham High School in 1959. She attended Portland State University before beginning a career as a flight

attendant for Western Airlines.

In Maureen's early years she became an accomplished member of the Oregon State Junior Rodeo Association and was a Molalla Buckaroo Rodeo Princess in 1956. In her career with Western Airlines she met and remained lifelong best of friends with Peggy, Alice and Del.

After many years flying, Maureen changed careers and served as the city recorder for the cities of Gresham, Federal Way, Washington and Redmond, Oregon. In retirement, she formed the business, Winery Compliance Northwest, helping small wineries throughout the northwest with their shipping rules. She made many friendships in the wine industry and was an expert and lover of their wines.

Maureen is survived by her sons, Stephen (Michelle) and Patrick (Lori), her sister Dixie McKeel

(Dennis), brother Michael McKeel (Diane) and four grandsons, Alex, Conner, Braden and Dawson. Maureen loved springtime in the Northwest, and to honor her, the family will hold a reception on May 11 at 1 PM at the community building at the Salish Pond Cottages, 750 West Pond Drive, Fairview, Oregon.

Maureen, during her life, supported many animal rescue shelters. Any donations to their efforts to save and support our furry friends would be greatly appreciated.
