SUBMITTED PHOTO - Rulon Judd QuanstromLong-time Gresham resident Rulon Judd Quanstrom passed from this life peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, April 5, 2020. Rulon was born in Rupert, Idaho to George Leo and Mary Emma Judd Quanstrom on September 20, 1930 and was the fifth of nine children. He grew up in the small logging towns of Cougar Flats, Vader

and Ryderwood, Washington.

Rulon served in the Air Force in Japan and Korea

during the Korean War. In 1952 he was stationed near

Sherman, Texas where he met and married Bernice

Dixon. While attending school, Rulon began working

for Iron Fireman Co. in Portland which eventually

became part of Boeing. He retired in 1992 after 38

years of service there. In 1964 Rulon and Bernice

moved their family to Gresham where he has resided

ever since. Rulon was a widower over eleven years

and missed Bernice dearly. He was also preceded in

death by an infant daughter, Mary, his parents and

seven siblings. He is survived by three children, Cindy

Hansen (Richard) of Gresham, David Quanstrom

(Crystal) of Rancho Santa Margarita, California, and

Nancy Bulloch (Curt) of Alamo, California, and a

brother, Patrick Quanstrom of Portland. He was the

proud grandfather of ten grandchildren and sixteen

great grandchildren. Rulon was a lifelong member of

the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and he

led a life of generous service wherever he saw a need.

He was truly a gentle, kind, honest and loving man

with a quiet, quick sense of humor who will be missed

by all who knew and loved him.

A family memorial will be held at a later date.
