Clarence Daniel Walter
Clarence Daniel Walter passed away Thursday, June 4th following complications from hip surgery. He has gone fishing in heaven catching the biggest fish ever.
Clarence, Grandpa, Papa (sometimes Walt) was born in
St. Francis, KS, the 4th of 10 children. After moving to Oregon, the family attended Gresham Assembly of God church where he met and married Norma Jean Tamarius in 1948. They celebrated their 72nd wedding anniversary on June 3, 2020.
During WWII, Clarence served in the 11th Airborne
division. He served in the Philippine islands and then in
Japan. He remembered seeing the devastation of Hiroshima and skiing on Mt Fuji. Preceded in death by 7 of his
siblings and 2 sons, Robert and Donald, he is survived by wife, Norma, siblings Herman Walter Jr. and Jean Holboke, daughter Pam Kuhn, 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
