Richard S. "Ricky" Kemper, Jr., 40, a resident of the North Plains community, died Thursday morning, March 19, 2020 at his home.

A Private Family Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2020 at the Fuiten, Rose & Hoyt Funeral Home, 2308 Pacific Avenue in Forest Grove, with Pastor Brian Huffman of the Cornerstone United Pentecostal Church in Portland, officiating. Burial Rites and Interment will follow at the Union Point Cemetery, 41500 N.W. Banks Road in Banks.

Richard Scott Kemper, Jr. was born August 13, 1979 in Portland, Oregon, the son of Richard Scott "Rick" Kemper and Patricia Kay "Pat" (Martin) Kemper. He was raised in the North Plains community, attending Banks Grade School, North Plains Elementary School and Glencoe High School, graduating with the Class of 1997.

Ricky was united in marriage to Sara M. Sause on April 20, 2018 in Hillsboro, Oregon. Following their marriage, they have made their home in the North Plains community.

He worked as a sheet metal worker in the construction industry, for the Sheet Metal Worker's International Association Local Union #16 in Portland, for the past twenty-three years.

Ricky was a member of the Choctaw Native American Tribe.

He was very supportive of the Little League Program in North Plains, and coached for several years.

Among his special interests, Ricky enjoyed playing golf, whitewater rafting and visiting the Oregon Coast.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, B.J. Watson in 1975 and Billy Watson in 1991.

Survivors include his wife, Sara Kemper, of the family home in North Plains, Oregon; his four children, Riley Marie Kemper, Noah Scott Kemper and Asher Brian Kemper, all of North Plains, Oregon and Daphey Makenna Kemper, of Hillsboro, Oregon; his three sisters, Debbie Walsh and her husband, Tom, of McMinnville, Oregon, Tina Kemper, of Niceville, Florida and LeAnn Watson, of Albany, Oregon; his three brothers, Troy Kemper, of Portland, Oregon, Anthony Watson, of Lyons, Oregon and Gavin Kemper, of Vian, Oklahoma; his parents, Rick and Pat Kemper, of Vian, Oklahoma; his in-laws, Kim Sause, of Beaverton, Oregon and Mike Sause, of Beaverton, Oregon.

Also surviving are several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family suggests that remembrances may be contributions to the Richard S. Kemper, Jr. Trust Fund, for his children, c/o Sara Kemper, P.O. Box 433, North Plains, Oregon 97133, in his memory.
