Ann Catherine (Nielsen) Randle
Mom passed away in her sleep on April 7, 2019, in Madras, Oregon. She was born Sept. 23, 1941, in Kau, Hawaii, to the late Earl Nielsen, Jr. and Mary (Thurman) Nielsen. Ann was the big sister to the late Stanley Nielsen. She graduated in 1959, from Punahou School in Honolulu, Hawaii.
After graduation, Ann attended Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon, where she met David Randle. Together, Ann and Dave had two sons, Geoff rey David (1964), and Patrick James (1965). They moved to Madras in 1965, where she would reside for the next 54 years.
Along with her toughest, but most rewarding job raising "The Randle Boys," as they were best known around town, she worked at Madras High School as a secretary for 35 years, retiring in 2003.
Mom was a true sports fanatic. She was the number one fan to her sons and four grandsons. If she was not traveling all over Oregon and Washington watching them do what they loved, she most defi nitely had some sort of college sport on in her living room. Her hobbies were quilting, crocheting, and crafts of all kinds, playing bells at church and working to help others with her sorority sisters of the ALPHA OMICRON.
She was blessed to have so many sisters in her life. Her legacy will carry on in her son and daughter-inlaw, Geoff and Briana Randle (Soldotna, Alaska), son and daughter-in-law, Pat and Lisa Randle (Vancouver, Washington); her four grandsons, Samuel James, Thomas Geoff rey, Parker James and Patrick Max; and mother of Sam and Thomas, Maria Gunis.
Please join our family in a celebration of life on Friday, April 19, at 11 a.m., at the Madras United Methodist Church, 49 NE 12th St. Madras. There will be a gathering immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you make donations to the Madras United Methodist Church in Ann Randle's name.
