February 2, 1938 - May 15, 2020 ~ Janet Darlene MacRostie Morgan passed on to be with the Lord on May 15, 2020.

Janet Darlene MacRostie Morgan passed on to be with the Lord on May 15, 2020. Darlene was born February 2, 1938, in Klamath Falls, Oregon, to Margaret and Ward MacRostie. She was 82 at the time of her passing.

Her family moved to Culver, Oregon, in December of 1945, to live on a farm close to Haysack Reservoir. Darlene attended Culver schools and was valedictorian of her class of 1956. She attended Oregon State and attained a BS in Education. Her first teaching job was at Central Linn High School teaching business and English courses. Darlene married Grant Morgan and moved to California, then Florida, then Massachusetts, teaching along the way for 20-plus years. She attained an MA in Business at Boston University.

After a divorce in the early `80s, Darlene moved all the way across the U.S. and landed in Hayward, California. She taught at Chabot College, lived through several earthquakes, and decided Oregon was the place to be. She moved to Gresham and again taught at several colleges including adult education opportunities. These were followed by a two-year teaching stint in Taiwan at Morrison Academy, which she thoroughly enjoyed.

Darlene's retirement years were spent in Redmond. She was a wonderful aunt to her nephews and their families. She was an accomplished pianist and played at the Culver Christian Church and the church in Taiwan as well as requested invitations.

Darlene was a loving daughter, sister, and aunt. She is survived by her brother, Bob (Olivia) MacRostie; nephews, Morgan (Amy) MacRostie and son, Mason, Nathaniel (Tiffany) and their sons Brayden and Isaac, and Matthew (Kristin) and son, Hunter.

A private family service will be held at a later date. Donations in her memory may be made to the Culver Christian Church, PO Box 87, Culver, OR 97734.
