Jewel Whitman, 91, went to be with the Lord, Monday, June 8, 2020. She was born in Bend, Oregon, to Roscoe and Aurel Links, January 10, 1929. She spent her young life in Madras, Oregon, and married Allen Clowers in 1948.
They farmed until they retired to Honolulu, Hawaii, in 1980, and lived a full life until Allen passed in 1989. In 1997, she returned to the mainland to attend her 50th high school reunion. She reconnected with her high school friend, the widowed Donald Whitman. She and Donald married in 1998. Jewel and Donald lived in Ewa Beach, Hawaii, until 2004, then Las Vegas; Yuma; Vancouver, Washington, and finally in Kingman, Arizona.
Jewel is survived by Donald Whitman; sister, Helen Crocker (Doug); brother, Gordon Links (Jackie); sons, Leland Clowers (Laura), Davis Clowers (Lilly), John Clowers (Kathy), Verl Whitman; and daughter, Caree King (Bob). They have 13 grandchildren, 17 greatgrandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Jewel enjoyed her faith, travel, family and civic activities. She was a member of the Emblem Club of Honolulu. She also enjoyed teaching Sunday school, singing, dancing and painting.
No memorial is arranged at this time. Her ashes will be scattered off Waikiki.
