Charles Larry Fowler
Charles, also known as Charlie, Chuck, Chucker, Larry, and a few others but we will keep it short, was born in Silverton, Oregon, to Charles and Doreen Fowler. Growing up, he and his family moved around a lot as his dad worked for the Army Corp of Engineers.
In the sixth grade, his parents bought a home in Springfield and he graduated from Thurston High School in 1966.
In 1968 he got his draft letter from Uncle Sam and served in Vietnam from 1968 to 1969.
Charles worked many different jobs throughout his life and lived in many different places: Phillips Industries in Stayton, partnership at Jerry's Union 76 Gas Station on Portland Road in Salem, United Nuclear Co., Westinghouse Hanford, and UNOCal Chemicals in Edmonton Alberta Canada, and Tri-Cities, Washington. Charles retired (VA) in 1994. He loved fishing and hunting.
In 2005, he and his wife, Loraine, bought their first home after 30 years of marriage in Culver.
Charles is survived by his wife of 44 years, Loraine; sister, Lisa Hansloven (John); daughters, Heather McDonald (Tim), Sandi Flowers; son-in-law, Mike Ader; grandson, Tristan Ramsey (Nichole); great-granddaughters, Madelyn and Iris; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Carol Ader; and son, Anthony.
