Phillip Dean Morsman
Phillip Dean Morsman passed away peacefully on May 7, 2021, at the age of 82 in Prineville, Oregon, surrounded by family.
Phil was born on January 25, 1939, to Dean and Elizabeth Morsman, in Seattle, Washington. After high school Phil served as an MP in the U.S. Army. While stationed in Germany, he met the love of his life, Brigitte (Klotz) Morsman, and they married on February 7, 1964. They returned to Gresham, Oregon in 1965 where Phil served as police officer and they had their first daughter, Renate. They welcomed their second daughter, Brenda, in 1968 and moved to Madras. In Madras, Phil served as a police officer for the Madras Police Department and volunteered with the Madras Fire Department for several years until opening his own upholstery shop. After spending many years in Madras, they moved to Prineville in October 2020, to be closer to family.
Phil had many enjoyments in life which included fishing with his dad and brother, golfing, and bowling with his wife. He and Brigitte enjoyed traveling and spending time together and with family. He also enjoyed sewing, upholstery, reloading and shooting.
Phil is survived by his wife, Brigitte; daughters, Renate (Jerry) Abrahamson of Wellpinit, Washington, and Brenda (Steve) Olheiser of Prineville; five grandchildren, Nichole Engel, Todd Olheiser, Heidi, Jerome and Jacob Abrahamson; 10 great-grandchildren; one sister; one brother; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Phil was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and one sister.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Prineville Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held for Phil at the Prineville Funeral Home on Saturday, May 22, at 10 a.m., then a military honors graveside service to follow at Juniper Haven Cemetery.
