Bonifacio Bravo 73, of Madras, Oregon, passed away July 7, 2021. He was born June 5, 1948, in Guerrero, Mexico, and raised in the state of Oaxaca.
Bonifacio married his wife, Rosa, on July 31, 1978. After their marriage they immigrated to the town of Madras in 1979, where he worked in the agriculture industry which was his passion for over 42 years. During this time he helped many migrants find work at harvest time and settle into the Madras community.
Bonifacio had a strong faith in God from a young age and in 1992, he dedicated his life to Jehovah as a Jehovah's Witness through baptism.
Over the years he shared what he was learning with those he worked with, and also preached to his neighbors in Madras and the surrounding Spanish communities in Central Oregon.
He was a generous and hospitable man who shared what he could with others. He loved to conversate and tell stories with his children, grandchildren, his spiritual family and friends and also everyone he met on his routine trips and outings.
Some of his hobbies he loved was spending time in his garden, but what he loved the most was reading and meditating. He read his Bible every single day; this truly made him happy.
His immense desire was to faithfully serve Jehovah and to share this desire with everyone he could, and he did just so.
Bonifacio is survived by his three children in Mexico: Elizabeth, Everardo and Veronica; and current spouse of 43 years, Rosa; and children Danny, Boni, Rosie, and Mary; in addition to his 17 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
A virtual memorial will be held in Spanish via Zoom on July 17, 2021, at 12 p.m.
