Sally Ann Struck passed away peacefully on September 15, 2021, in the company of family. Sally was born on October 30, 1933, in Aberdeen, Washington to Howard and Edna (Woods) Jacobs. They moved to Portland, Oregon where she attended grade school and graduated from Franklin High School in 1951. She was on the cheer squad and was a member
of many clubs including her favorite, the Ski Club. On November 16, 1951, she married Melvin Struck and they made their home in Portland. They had three children, Tom, Cindy, and Jim. Mel passed away in 1996 and Sally eventually married Stanley Takalo, a longtime family friend, in November 2000. Throughout her adult life, Sally did many jobs to support the family. She worked as a waitress and cook at Sun Bowl Lanes. She was a bookkeeper and floral arranger at Hawthorne Florist. She obtained her realtor's license and also worked as a bank teller and medical veterinary courier. She worked the longest
for Scott's 88 stores where she was the bookkeeper, payroll clerk, and buyer. She was responsible for 5 stores. Sally enjoyed reading, gardening, camping, and snow skiing during her free time. She loved family get togethers where she cooked delicious meals for us all. She was a loving daughter, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend to many. Sally is survived by her husband, Stanley Takalo, her sons, Tom (Windi) and Jim (Cindy) and by her daughter Cindy (Curt) and stepdaughter Teresa (Ken). She had 7 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Edna Jacobs, her first husband, Melvin Struck, and her stepson Gene Takalo. A memorial service will be held on October 30th in Madras, Oregon at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd at 2:00 in the afternoon where we will celebrate her life on what would have been her 88th birthday. We will attempt to stream her service on Facebook for her friends and family in the Gresham/Portland area on the Madras Lutheran and Episcopal Church page.
