Juanita A. Tomczak passed away at home with family at her side January 12, 2019 from natural causes. She was born to Clara J. Koehn Cunningham and Leo J. Cunningham on February 11, 1931 in Lexington Nebraska. She was the oldest of 10 siblings. Juanita lived in Lexington, Nebraska until 1937, when they moved to Weiser, Idaho for five years. She attended catholic school in Boise, Idaho and went on to receive her L.P.N. license from the state of Idaho in 1975. She worked at the Idaho State School and Hospital from 1973-1979, Prior to that she worked for the Federal Way School District as a bus driver from 1961-1967. CONTRIBUTED PHOTO - Tozmac

Juanita married the love of her life on July 7, 1951 in Winnemuccua, Nevada, they had 5 children all boys.

Michael L. Mathews 66, of Moses Lake, WA, Danny L. Mathews 65, Chehallis, WA, Patrick L. Mathews 64, Boring, Or, Timothy L. Mathews 63, Royal City, WA, Kenneth L. Mathews 53, deceased.

Juanita and Leonard raised their 5 boys until a U.S. Forest service accident claimed his life on July 6, 1977. Leonard had served in the navy during WWII, worked for the Simpson Logging Company and Boeing. Juanita went on to marry Vincent Tomczak in Elma, WA on April 20, 1991. Vincent was a millwright for the Simpson Logging Company. They moved to Boring, OR where they grew old together until Vincent passed away on July 16, 1996. After Vincent's death Juanita enjoyed spending time in her garden, tending her flowers, canning and baking for the Holidays.

Juanita talked about her childhood and raising five rampageous boys.

She always talked about the good times and how she weathered the bad. Juanita always

loved to tell jokes, but most of all laugh! She will be missed.

Juanita is preceded in death by her two husbands,

Leonard Mathews and Vincent Tomczak, Two brothers, Dana Cunningham and Mike Cunningham, four sisters, Peggy Becker, Angie Davis, Pam Troglin, Pat lamb and Juanita's son Kenneth Mathews. She is survived by three sisters, Leah Johnson, Marilyn

McNutt, and Judy Fikes. And her four sons Michael

Mathews, Danny Mathews, Pat Mathews and Tim

Mathews, fourteen grandchildren and numerous greatgreat grandchildren.

A Celebration of life with potluck will be held at

the Sandy VFW Hall 38452 Proctor Blvd, Sandy, OR 97055 on February 23, 2019 at 11:00 am.
