Martha Dahlke Passed away on November 29, 2021. She was 20 days away from her 98th birthday.
Her parents Ludger Babeux a French Canadian Merchant Marine and Drusilla Fry an Irish Seamstress emigrated to the United States and settled in San Francisco, California where Martha was born. Upon completing high school, she went to work as a secretary for the Agriculture Department. After her war time love Donald Dahlke returned from the Navy at the end of WWII they married and they moved to Sherwood Oregon. They lived there until Donald passed in 2013. She then moved to Floresville Texas to live with her daughter Donna.
Martha is survived by her children Don Dahlke of Portland Oregon , Donna Nordstrom of Floresville Texas; 5 Grandchildren; 6 Great-Grandchildren; and one Great-Great-Grandchild.
While living in Sherwood Martha served as PTA president, a Cub Scout Leader and worked seasonally at the Portland Canning Company. She also served for many years as a volunteer at Meridian Hospital in Tualatin. Martha's declining years were marred by increasing dementia, but she still found joy in her family and her memories. Her ashes will be scattered in the Pacific Ocean so that she can be near her husband who was buried at sea. Private memorials will be held by the family.
